I promised to put an end to all these reports, bit nevertheless fell for the temptation to write this one: The old man suddenly found out that it would be nice to spend a few days this autumn at the Aurevatn lake in Lillomarka, quite near where I live. So the 11. Sept. I parked only a couple of minutes drive from my home. Then I loaded Chomsky’s backpack with 15 kgs and my own with around 20 kgs for the first of two turns to establish my camp site. Aurevatn is only a little more than an hour’ trek from the parking lot. As you see from the photos Aurevatn is quite an idyllic lake and my camp site was situated on a small peninsula outside the stream of tour walkers. I brought my big four-man tent and I also put up a little lean-to for stuff I did not use very often. As usual brought with me far too much food and equipment. One luxury was beer that Chomsky willingly carried on his back, in addition to his own food. But I had a lot of good meals and consumed a lot of papers, books and audiobooks. Fishing was quite miserable, as said a lot of the people I talked with. Only one trout about three hgs, just enough for one meal of fried fish. So instead I went for hikes and picked som blueberries and lingonberries. The weather was on the whole good, a little cold in the mornings and a period with strong winds. The two Saturdays I spent at the camp there arrived a lot of youths who put up a lot of colorful hammocks in the forest. Looked like a rainbow among the trees. They partied as in a disco with a lot of noise. Oslo has been forced to introduce stricter covid 19 restrictions but these youngsters seemed to ignore them completely. Fortunately I had ear props with me, so that I could sleep undisturbed. But I noticed that Chomsky was a bit affected by the noise. The weather forecast was bad from the 23. so I decided to start the return on the 21. As planned I returned in to turns. Both Chomsky and I carried 19 kgs on our backs, which I think was well done by both of us. On the second. Return Chomsky carried 16 kgs and I 25. The trip turned out to be quite successful and I have decided to go back also next summer, if my health allows it. But then I will take my canoe and put up cam on the little island in the middle of Aurevatn, which is more in line with my asocial disposition.
